June 7, 2015

Hello everyone!

This has been another pretty great week. Today was the start of my second transfer here in Taiwan, Its crazy to think that I have been out here that long. the language is still pretty hard but I am slowly improving.

last Sunday I was asked to give a talk in church. I was asked to talk about the difference between loving and tolerating people. My Chinese still isn't great and I was given an odd topic to speak on. Thankfully I was only suppose to talk for five minutes. So after a week of preparation i showed up to sacrament meeting ready to give my short talk. Just before the meeting started the bishop approached my companion and I and said there were going to be a few changes. He wanted each of us to speak for fifteen minutes. I was the first speaker so I didn't have any time to prepare anything else but somehow i managed to talk for almost the whole time. I don't know if all of it was understandable, but at least I was able to do it.

On Saturday we decided that we wanted to find a less active member. Nether of us have been to their hose before but we had the address so we decided we would try our best to find it. After about an hour we were able to find the town we were looking for. It was a lot further away then either of us thought it would be. It was a little town up in the mountains, most of the buildings were little brick homes. There is a man that lives in the town that doesn't have a job, he just paints on all of the houses and walls in the town. We continued our search for this less active person, but there were multiple addresses on every house. I think we stopped and asked for directions at least twenty times and every person we talked to pointed us in a different direction. After biking up and down the side of the mountain for another hour we finally were able to find the house we were looking for. And nobody was home. But now we know where the house is so next time we should be able to find it a lot faster.

Since I have gotten here I have been able to talk to so many people. Usually the people are pretty quick to reject us. But I am so glad that I have this opportunity to be out here. Occasionally people will listen to us and It feel so great to be able to share our beliefs with them.
Thank you for all of the support you give me. I miss you all and cant wait to here from you all again next week!

This is a picture Mark sent Jared.  He said it was about 10 inches across and the body was as round as a quarter.
