June 29, 2015 - Letter to Mom

I thought I would include the letter Mark wrote to me this week.

Hi Mom :)

The language is still really hard, I don't really see any progress from day to day but I am slowly getting better at it. The ward is pretty great. There are about sixty active members and our ward currently has 4 full time missionaries all serving in California and Utah and there is one other expecting to get her mission call any day now. We don't have a huge ward but we still have a lot  of great members.

This last week has been a little crazy with all of our investigators. We have one man that doesn't speak English or much Chinese so it is a little hard to teach him, he wants to be baptized but his family back home wont let him. We have two other great investigators that just left for the summer, hopefully we will see them again when they get back. My second week here we started meeting with someone, they were absolutely amazing. They were suppose to get baptized this last week but during the baptismal interview the zone leader found out that they breaking some pretty big commandments and they need to make some big changes in there life. Unfortunately i don't know if they are willing to change but we will keep on working with them and hopefully we will see some progress.

Since I have gotten here I have had a lot of encounters with some big mean dogs. Before I left I loved dogs. Not any more. There are lots of stray dogs and they are all pretty mean. I always wanted to get a dog later in life but now I never want to see another dog again.

I really  enjoyed seeing all of those pictures. They don't really have grass here or any areas that aren't supper densely populated. So its nice to know that big parks like that still exist. Thank you for the E-mail. i love you and miss you a ton!
