Ready to teach in Taiwan

May 25, 2015

Hello everyone!

This has been another pretty great week in Taiwan. I got to meet more people, learn new things and try some more interesting food. I also went on my first overnight exchange with another missionary. It was really cool to work with someone else for a day and learn about how other people do things.

Its starting to get into the rainy season here in Taiwan, it hasn't really stopped raining for about five days now. Its not as hot when its raining  so that's kinda nice but i don't think I've really been dry since the rain started. We still ride our bikes everywhere and we spend a lot of time outside  looking for people to teach so by the end of the day when we get inside we are completely soaked.

My companion is also our district leader so earlier this week we got to go to a different chapel for a baptism interview. while he was doing that I went to teach a lesson with two other Elders. There were on exchanges to so it was one of our zone leaders and another missionary that was in my district at the MTC. we just started the lesson on the ten commandments when another elder came to the door (there are 4 companionships that use this building) of the classroom we were in and told the zone leader that they need him in a different lesson., So suddenly I was teaching the ten commandments with another missionary that doesn't really know much Chinese to an investigator that neither of us really knew. Neither of us really knew what we were doing but I think the lesson actually went pretty well. It was a lot of fun and it was just a funny experience to have. It was also a good lesson to me that even though I need to be learning Chinese  that's not the most important thing I need to do. with the use of a lot of scriptures and a lot of help from the spirit we were effectively able to teach a lesson even though neither of us prepared for it and neither of us could really speak Chinese.

I really hope that you are all doing well and if there is anything I can ever help with just sent me an email :)
