This has been another exciting week in Taiwan! Them members here don't really ever feed the missionaries so we eat all of our meals at home or at different places but this week we had a few meals with members and I had a few pretty interesting things. There was lots of whole fish, fresh grass soup and lots of sea food. I think the most interesting was my lunch yesterday. We had some soup that was basically a few squids with some shrimp and noodles. It actually didn't taste to bad but the squid was really rubbery and I accidently ate a squid beak, that was a little gross.
There is a lady in our ward that just got a new home that needs a little work done. So on Saturday we went to go help a little. We were told we would be moving dirt from the front of the house to the back. I was thinking I finally found something I might be good at. So I filled up two five gallon buckets with dirt and carried them to the back. As I started working I was thinking that I am very glad I inherited the ability to work hard from my dad. Unfortunately he also gave me the ability to sweat hard. So after about 30 seconds I was already soaked. I was carrying my third load of dirt into the back when suddenly I had a little Taiwanese lady yelling at me. "No! No! No! Stop! Stop! Too heavy!" She was worried I was going to hurt myself from carrying to much. I tried explaining to her that I was OK but she didn't believe me and took one of my buckets away. Then I decided I would just have to work faster to make up for the lack of my second bucket. After one or two more loads I heard someone yelling again "No! No! No! Stop! Too Fast!". The entire Time I was working Someone was telling me that I was working too hard and that I had to stop, I honestly never thought that would happen to me. It was a little funny.
I've been a little sick again this week, Nothing to bad. But every time I go to someones house they tell me what I need to do to fix it and often give me something to help. So I've eaten lots of lemons and honey. One person put some stuff on a q-tip and told me to stick it up my nose. Someone told me I cant eat anymore watermelon. One man told me that I need to eat lots of Ice cream, I think he might be right.
There are so many great things happening here and I am so glad that I have this opportunity to serve here in Taiwan. It really is amazing to be able to teach someone and watch them as they change and improve as they accept the gospel. Thank you all for all of your prayers and support.
